RumahHokie.com (Sydney) – Skye by Crown Group has been awarded Gold Winner at 2017 Sydney Design Awards from Driven x Design Award. Driven x Design is a global community of designers, thinkers, strategists and design lovers.
This award celebrates the design process and product of planning, designing and constructing form, space, and ambiance that reflect functional, technical, social, and aesthetic considerations.
Located in North Sydney, and gazing outward across Sydney’s spectacular east and west skyline, Skye by Crown Group is a considered vision of a mixed-use vertical living, responding to the city context, while reimagining the urbanism of high rise as a rich collective experience, steeped in lifestyle, nature, and community.
Sculptural and visionary, Skye by Crown Group has been informed by naturally occurring phenomena of the Northern Lights – Aurora Borealis. The building’s undulating façade follows the terrestrial aurora wave and its gentle but striking fall to earth.
A veil of bronze-hued cylindrical columns resemble great lengths of bamboo and draw the eye skyward, channeling light up, and then back down to earth.
Yin and Yang
Designed by Koichi Takada Architects, Skye by Crown Group has successfully added more colors in North Sydney’s Skyline and it’s the first built specimen of Takada’s unprecedented and detail-driven, human-focused design for high rise.
Skye by Crown Group represents Takada’s boundary pushing approach, and the practice’s contribution to a more conscious, pivotal architectural language.
“We wanted to create something equally as beautiful as it was functional, a sculpture you can live in,” said Koichi Takada.
This can be seen through the Internal areas, where all apartments are extraordinarily efficient, functional and user-friendly, creating an effortless living experience
Meanwhile, Crown Group’s Global Chairman & CEO, Iwan Sunito mentioned, this is a solid evidence of Crown Group’s persistence and determination to make a valuable contribution to Sydney’s skyline.
“Our collaboration with Koichi Takada is like Yin and Yang, ebony and ivory in the architectural world which creates a perfectly balanced harmony,” Iwan said.
